Dosage error

In the paragraph headed ‘Treatment’ (p. 161)

For : "Give 20 mg/kg slowly IV once every 8 hours in the first ten days of life, and once every 8 hours for babies older than that."

Read: "Give 20 mg/kg slowly IV once every 12 hours in the first week of life, and once every 8 hours for babies older than that."

Lidocaine (p. 154)

See additions in red below:

Fits and arrhythmia: Give a 2 mg/kg dose (0•2 ml/kg of a 1% solution of adrenaline-free lidocaine IV over 10 minutes), followed by a maintenance infusion of 6 mg/kg per hour for 6 hours. Then tail treatment off over the next 24 hours (4 mg/kg per hour for 12 hours followed by 2 mg/kg per hour for 12 hours). A marginally lower dose may be better in the very preterm baby."
